About
This blog is a project of participants in Legacy International’s Global Youth Village: Welcoming Iraqi Youth program, which brings together diverse teens from the U.S. and Iraq for a chance to meet, learn about each other’s life and culture, and explore what it means to be a global citizen.
Legacy International is dedicated to strengthening civil society – linking people across differences and providing tools for individuals and organizations to build a better tomorrow today. We are particularly interested in key regions of the world characterized by instability or the potential for instability. By helping local citizens to build increasingly cooperative and productive lives, global security is positively impacted.
We estimate that more than 650,000 people around the globe have benefited from the work of Legacy International through direct services and the initiatives created by our alumni.
Since 1979, Legacy has trained and mentored youth, professionals, government and ngo administrators, and religious and community leaders in countries on five continents, including:
Indonesia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco, Turkey, Egypt, Israel & West Bank, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Spain, Venezuela, Costa Rica, United States
